About Us
What we do
We capture stunning drone imagery from vantage points previously unreachable without a plane or helicopter. We provide a multitude of services from the simple aerial photo or video, to more complex reality capture for creating interactive orthographic and elevation maps and 3D models.
In addition to aerial videography, photography and mapping; we also offer services such as roof flyovers, drainage flow analysis mapping, 360 degree photos and more...
Why Us?
Experience: We have been capturing amazing aerial photos and video and collecting aerial data for almost as long as drones have been commercially available. We have documented mines, roadways, railroads, construction projects, solar farms, landfills, campgrounds, archeological sites and so much more.
Safety: Flying an object through the sky requires a certain level of care and responsibility to ensure the safety of those around. We follow strict safety standards including: using a multi-point pre-flight checklist; maintaining a maximum altitude of 400 vertical feet; and keeping proper distances from military, civilian airports, and other no fly zones. We also perform site based risk assessments prior to every mission.
Privacy: We understand that there is some trepidation regarding the privacy issues aerial videography brings. As such, we strive to model a high standard of ethics for this new industry by requiring a property release form for imagery and services.
Meet the remote Pilot-in-command (rPIC)
Hi I'm Nate,
I started flying drones back in 2014 after seeing one in use while managing a construction project at the Botanic Gardens. I was astounded by the idea of a flying camera as I had trekked 400 acres on foot with a handheld digital camera for documentation on a previous project. I guess I "saw the bigger picture" and started Mountainside Aerial Imagery and Consulting.
Since then, I have completed hundreds of drone photography, video and mapping missions. I am fully FAA compliant and have my airman certification with a small unmanned aircraft rating.
Prior to all of this, I spent 20+ years creating Construction Documents and architectural 3D models while also managing those same projects. My days were busy, assembling buildings both virtually and in reality. My background in the construction and design field provides useful insight when flying over structures and sites. I am currently helping designers, contractors and owners understand their projects better by providing progress documentation throughout the project. Teams can use annotated images, videos or 3D models to convey information to all interested parties so timely, cost effective decisions can be made.
Additionally, I promote the safe use of UAS by instructing at local higher education institutions.
